Socializer

Your answers to the questions indicate that you tend toward being a Socializer. Characteristics of a Socializer:

Strengths: Persuasion, interacting with others
Weaknesses: Disorganization, carelessness
Irritation: Routine
Goals: Popularity, applause
Fear: Loss of prestige
Motivator: Recognition

Socializers are open and direct. They are friendly, enthusiastic people who like to be where the action is. The Socializer's primary strengths are enthusiasm, charm, persuasiveness, and warmth. They are eternal optimists with an abundance of charisma; qualities that help them influence people and build alliances to accomplish their goals. Socializers are more relationship-oriented than task-oriented. As wonderful as Socializers may sound, they do have their weaknesses: impatience, an aversion to being alone, and a short attention span they become bored easily. Socializers are not inclined to do their homework or check out information. They are more likely to assume someone else will do it.

Socializers tend to gravitate toward the following positions:

*sales (especially non technical products/services)
*public relations
*advertising
*show business
*cruise ship social directors
*hotel and restaurant personnel
*glamorous, high-profile careers

Results of your Assertiveness test

Total score: 77 (possible range: 0 = extremely low assertiveness to 100 = extremely high assertiveness)

Assertiveness is the ability to formulate and communicate one's own thoughts, opinions and wishes in a clear, direct, and non-aggressive way. Being unassertive doesn't make you a bad or difficult person. Nevertheless, it can keep you from achieving and using your full potential.

According to this test, you seem to be doing very well when it comes to asserting yourself. You seem to know what to say or do in various social situations, when to say it, and, importantly, how to say it.

You don't let people boss you around and are able to stand up for your rights. You are certainly leader material and, very likely, will get far in life. Nevertheless, look around and under your feet from time to time to make sure you aren't standing on anybody's head or toes.

Results of your Optimism/Pessimism Inventory

Results of your Optimism/Pessimism Inventory

Your score: 58 (possible range: 0 = for extreme pessimism, to 100 = for extreme optimism)

You are somewhere in the middle between pessimism and optimism. You are down-to-earth and generally see things for what they are. Yours is quite an adaptive way to approach life. Nonetheless, it wouldn't hurt you to put on rose-colored glasses from time to time. All the goodies in life are easier to achieve if you have a positive attitude. If you have a problem, you are more likely to be able to solve it by approaching it with a positive and hopeful perspective. The positive outlook will energize you, help you to mobilize your strengths and serve as a source of motivation to keep you going during the hard times. On the other hand, if you expect your life to stink, it most definitely will.

Try to find the good side of things that happen in your life. Even if a situation is predominantly bad, there are usually some good aspects - for example, a negative situation may help you to grow, to learn from your own mistakes and to avoid ineffective behavior in the future.
